Jamison Ross, an American drummer and singer, grew up in his grandfather's church in Florida. It was there where he realised what the effect of music can be. He gained worldwide fame as a musician with the award-winning documentary Chops: a film that followed his high school jazz ensemble towards a performance at a jazz festival.
Ross studied Jazz at Florida State University and got to know the other members of Snarky Puppy. In 2012, Ross' career began to take shape after winning the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Drums Competition for his drumming. This achievement earned him a recording contract with Concord Jazz. In 2015, Jamison Ross received a Grammy nomination for Best Jazz Vocal Album for his debut album.
A few weeks prior to the planned concerts of Jong Metropole, Jamison Ross was already looking forward to his arrival in the Netherlands and the collaboration with Jong Metropole and recorded the video below.
