Registration auditions open
3 maart 2022
Jong Metropole has become an indispensable part of the Netherlands and, after successful experiments with two tours a year, will continue on this chosen path in 2022. Nowhere else do talented musicians from the classical and jazz worlds come together in such a unique orchestra that brings both worlds together. Thanks to the unremitting and heartwarming support of the Keep an Eye Foundation and the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds and thanks to the efforts of the Metropole Orkest, the Nationaal Jeugd Jazz Orkest and Nationale Jeugdorkesten Nederland, two concert projects can be organised this year as well.
Conservatoire students at the Jazz and Classical Departments of the Dutch conservatoires can now register for the Jong Metropole edition 2022! You can register until 22 March 2022. The auditions will take place from 1 to 4 April 2022 in Hilversum. All information about auditions, membership and the projects can be found at Audition and musicians.
Looking back at the Jong Metropole Summer Tour 'Reunion', summer 2021.
Jong Metropole will consist of a summer and an autumn tour in 2022. The summer tour will take place in the period from 1 to 7 August 2022 (including concerts). In the summer, the orchestra will be conducted by Tom Cohen, who will lead the orchestra with a programme consisting of a mix of Arabic and Turkish music, combined with works from the Metropole Orkest library. In addition, the new composition by Kika Sprangers, the Rogier van Otterloo Award winner from the Jong Metropole 2021 programme, will also premiere.
During the autumn tour, Jong Metropole will perform in various concert halls throughout the Netherlands with a programme that focuses on the fusion and jazz-rock repertoire, conducted by Jochen Neuffer. This autumn project will take place from 28 November to 4 December 2022, including rehearsals and concerts.
