Extra video audition round for string players!

We would like to announce an extra round of auditions for all instruments of the string section of the Jong Metropole (violin, viola, cello, double bass).
If you were not able to audition live, take this opportunity to join the Jong Metropole! You can take part in these auditions by sending us a video before May 1st.
The jury consisting of musicians of the Metropole Orchestra will review your video. Ultimately May 10th you will hear the result.
Mandatory audition repertoire
- Solo piece of choice
Preferably a solo piece indicated on the Jong Metropole website or another work commonly played at orchestral auditions. Duration : Max. 4 minutes (e.g. part of 1st movement/exposition)
- Orchestral excerpts

Summer Tour ‘The Best Of Metropole’ conducted by Jochen Neuffer
• Dates: July 28th to August 6th, 2025
• Concerts during Muziekzomer Gelderland, Caprera Bloemendaal
• The JM will perform highlights from the MO archives, e.g., arrangements/compositions by Bob Brookmeyer, Bill Dobbins, Michael Abene, Jim McNeely, Maria Schneider, Vince Mendoza, and others. Suzan Veneman, winner of the Rogier van Otterloo Award 2024, will compose a commissioned work.
Winter Tour ‘Lo van Gorp sings: Icons of the 70s and 80s’ conducted by Sam Gale
• Dates: December 7th to 14th, 2025
• Concerts in Utrecht, Tilburg, Rotterdam
• Under the direction of young conductor Sam Gale, Lo van Gorp will sing songs by artists like Sting and Paul Simon, supplemented with instrumental pieces that stylistically complement the program, and where there is room for instrumental solos by orchestra musicians.
